ATLANTA - Georgia’s new mental health law reshapes community clinics, expands crisis response statewide (WSAV)

Senate Bill 535 restructures Georgia’s Community Service Boards, the regional organizations that provide public mental health, substance use, and developmental disability services across the state.

The state now deploys approximately 1,750 mobile crisis responses every month. The teams operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and are available to respond to both children and adults experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis.
